The UC Berkeley Chapter of Project RISHI was established in March 2008 and has continually worked in tandem with UCLA to develop sustainable solutions to rural development in Vadamanappakkam, a village located 100 km south of Chennai in Tiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu. More recently, UC Berkeley chapter has adopted a new village in Bharog Bhaneri, Himachal Pradesh, India.

    This is University of California, Berkeley Project RISHI's site. Bharog Baneri has a population of 1,400. Berkeley has been working on a number of projects including Community Development Day (Trash Project), Ocular Health Camp (Retina India), Leadership Day (Pen Pals), Anganwadi Toy Drive, Womens' Empowerment: Income Generation for the Mahila Mandal, and a Water Sanitation Project.
